DO: Attend the coalition workshop

We’re hosting a virtual meeting for all members of Partners for Affordable Housing on Tuesday, July 29 from 4-6 p.m. to workshop local housing revenue strategies for jurisdictions in Deschutes County.
Revenue strategies can help fund critical roads, sewers and water lines needed to build more housing more affordably. Other strategies such as vacancy taxes or a rental fee can help provide dollars for gap funding needed to move housing projects forward.
It’s exciting stuff that can really make the difference. And we want your input!
PAH’s research and education on these kinds of solutions could help inform community-supported solutions for the City of Bend’s new temporary HOME committee (Housing Options Made for Everyone), and other cities and counties in our region.
Watch for more information coming soon and please plan to join us on July 29!
SHARE: A story from our partners at BUILD LLC
Coalition member Kevin Eckert, Founder of BUILD LLC, works on affordable multi-family housing and mixed-use projects across the Pacific Northwest every day.
Hear from Kevin about three challenges builders in Central Oregon face in advancing affordable housing – funding, land availability, and zoning.

FAST FACT: Two ADUs now allowed on a single property

In big news, the Bend City Council has updated policies to allow for two ADUs (Accessory Dwelling Units) on one property! Additionally, the code will be updated to authorize two kitchens in one home, unlocking more possibilities for intergenerational living. These updates will expand opportunities for more housing options across more income levels.
A big thanks to the Bend City Council for prioritizing more affordable and available housing!
