KEEPING HOUSING AFFORDABILITY FRONT AND CENTER THIS ELECTION YEAR
Partners for Affordable Housing hosted a three-part candidate forum series in 2026, called Housing is a Math Problem, providing a high-visibility opportunity for candidates to articulate policy positions and ideas for addressing our region's top challenge: low housing production and high housing costs.
The Housing is a Math Problem candidate forum series offered a nonpartisan deep dive into the policies and approaches that candidates believe can change the cost and production equation and lead to the greatest impacts in solving our housing crisis.
Our series started with our Deschutes County Commissioner Candidate Forum on April 30. Over 100 people attended the free and open-to-the-public event. This fall, we continued this educational series with the Bend and Redmond Mayoral and City Council Candidate Forums on Sept. 22 and Oct. 5, respectively.
Members of Partners for Affordable Housing worked together to develop meaningful questions for the candidates. Our media partner, Central Oregon Daily News (KOHD), emceed and recorded the event. Below are the full videos of the forums.
