DO: Join our bi-weekly legislative calls and impact Central Oregon from the state level!
We’re proud to have approved our Q2 Policy Agenda with a focus on legislative action in our recent coalition workshop. A special shout out and thanks to all of you who joined the call!
Now it’s time to jump into action. Through June, our coalition will meet every other Tuesday from 4-4:30 p.m. to coordinate coalition engagement on priority bills and legislative requests.
If you didn’t receive a calendar invite to these calls, email us at info@partnersforaffordablehousing.com and we’ll add you to the list!
SHARE: a housing story from coalition member Mountain View Community Development.

Our Partner, Rick Russell, told us the story of John—a community member supported by Mountain View Community Development, who has been waiting for an affordable home for more than two years. We invite you to share this post to raise awareness for the need for housing for all.
Suggested post sharing language: “This story from Mountain View Community Development illustrates the need for more affordable and available housing in our communities.”
Find this story on our social channels!
FAST FACT: Did you know that builders hold liability for condos for a full 10 years?

Currently, developers who build condos are responsible for any construction defects for up to 10 years!
This requires developers to carry hefty insurance that is so expensive, it is cost prohibitive to build this type of home—which is often a great first step in the homeownership market.
This means that our community is missing out on another housing option to make homes more available and affordable.
House Bill 3746 in the Oregon Legislature proposes reducing this statute of limitations, which would remove barriers to providing more housing. We look forward to engaging you all in supporting this bill throughout the rest of the session!
LEGISLATIVE COORDINATION: We encourage all of our members to join us as we stay up-to-date on ways PAH can support pro-housing policies through Sine Die (the last day of this year’s session) at the state legislature on June 29:
April 22, 4 - 4:30 p.m.: All-coalition legislative coordination call.
May 6, 4 - 4:30 p.m.: All-coalition legislative coordination call.
May 20, 4 - 4:30 p.m.: All-coalition legislative coordination call.
June 3, 4 - 4:30 p.m.: All-coalition legislative coordination call.
June 17, 4 - 4:30 p.m.: All-coalition legislative support coordination call.
